JOB TITLE: INSIDE SALES
Representative (ISR)

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:

Jon Ramsey, Sales Manager

BASIC FUNCTION:

Responds to customers’ needs, demonstrate, produce, and close sales. Maintain a clean, organized, and work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Respond to customer requests, explains merchandise features, and sells merchandise.
  • Provides displays, brochures and other point-of-sale information to customer.
  • Accurately completes all paperwork for sales, special orders and requests.
  • Creates quotes on Spruce
  • Monitors merchandise movement and advise management of fast/slow moving items.
  • Orders appropriate amount of merchandise.
  • Monitors inventory and customer behavior to lessen breaches of safety/security policies.
  • Accepts returned merchandise by verifying documents and merchandise.
  • Processes refunds, credits and exchanges.
  • Coordinates with receiving/warehouse to restock returned merchandise.
  • Maintains a clean store environment.
  • Prepares store arid product displays for advertised events and promotions.
  • Attends and participates in all company-sponsored training programs as required.
  • Anticipate client needs and provide solutions.
  • Arrange timely, organized and efficient deliveries.
  • Consistently updating client on all orders.
  • Provide accurate EDA’s and ETD’s.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

JOB TITLE: Outside Sales
Representative (OSR)

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:

Jon Ramsey, Sales Manager

BASIC FUNCTION:

Maintaining and strengthening relationships with current clients while consistently bringing in new ones. You will be the trusted face of Beatty Lumber Company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Create a sales strategy that ensures you meet personal and company sales requirements.
• Communicate with all current and potential clients on a regular basis.
• Follow up with all current and potential clients in a timely manner.
• Provide daily activity reports on Teams to supervisors.
• Creates quotes on Spruce.
• Constant coordination with other members of the Outside Sales Department.
• Provide weekly reports on mileage and spending. Keep accurate receipts.
• Monitor client behaviors to help anticipate sale opportunities.
• Stay on top of upcoming projects.
• After project/sale is complete, follow up with the client on a weekly, monthly, and/or bimonthly manner. Use your discretion.
• Utilize lead software to locate potential opportunities and clients.
• Stay in constant contact with OSR support staff.
• Perform duties as efficiently as possible, reducing costs when possible,
• Actively participate in all professional groups and associations (requires some night and weekend availability).
• Adhere to all company procedures, values, and policies to provide an accurate representation of Beatty Lumber Company to all potential and current clients.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) mandatory. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• 3-5 years of sales experience, preferably outside sales.
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, MS Outlook

YARD ASSOCIATE

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:

Ben LaPorte, Foreman

SUMMARY:

We are looking for the best candidates to join our Yard team. These candidates will be challenged to provide excellent customer service by immediately greeting customers in the yard and filling their orders. The ideal candidates will help keep yard neat, clean and organized, and efficiently handle our inventory.

BASIC FUNCTION:  

To perform all assigned duties in the yard to assist with quality customer service. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Load company vehicles in accordance with delivery invoices to include lifting and carrying merchandise, lumber and building materials
  • Greet and assist all customers
  • Safely, accurately and efficiently load customer vehicles with orders
  • Ensure that appropriate paperwork is completed for all orders
  • Help with receiving inventory when needed
  • Inventory goods and notify Yard Foreman of shortages and needed goods to be ordered
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Operate forklift to load, unload and stock merchandise as needed
  • Adhere to all approved company policies and procedures
  • Assist drivers with deliveries when needed
  • Maintain Yard cleanliness
  • Perform daily safety audits of Yard and machinery.  Promptly report any issues to Foreman

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to concentrate and attend to detail amidst a busy work environment
  • Customer Service 
  • Basic Math Skills  
  • Basic Reading Skills 
  • Lifting up to 100 pounds  

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

Prior lumber yard and building materials experience helpful, but not necessary.

None required.
